Description
Shrink Tape is a polyester compaction sheet that applies mechanical pressure on laminates as they cure. Unlike vacuum bagging, it creates pressure by using heat rather than a vacuum to do otherwise. It shrinks by up to 20% when heated, compacting (or squeezing) the composite inside and removing any surplus resin and air. Any seams or pleats formed during the shrink wrapping process should be covered using heat shrink tape. It is also applied over any holes while shrinking down the shrink wrap. To secure any heat welds or holes, apply heat shrink tape after shrinking your shrink wrap. HEAT SHRINK TAPE DOES NOT HAVE A SHRINK INTENTION.
